Borneo Native Cultural Festival 2024

Spotlight on the rich traditions of Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan

The Borneo Native Cultural Festival (BNCF) is back this year and is the perfect opportunity to discover and celebrate the incredible traditions of Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan. Alongside the annual Kaamatan Festival (in May), it's one of the best chances to discover the rich cultural heritage of Borneo's indigenous communities.

Highlights of the festival

  • Stunning traditional costumes that showcase the creativity of Borneo's ethnic groups.
  • Sales & exhibitions of clothing, handmade accessories and crafts that are as beautiful as they are useful.
  • Live music and performances using traditional instruments and rituals you won't see anywhere else.
  • Delicious traditional food that's sure to win your heart (and stomach).
  • Lucky draws (first prize is a motorbike!)

There's even a dance competition with 10 amazing groups from different communities, each bringing their unique style to the stage.

There will also be guest performances by renowned artists, including Leles Koronob, a celebrated Sabahan singer known for her beautiful voice and touching songs, as well as the Perantis Seni Budaya Sabah Band.

Whether it's the beautiful crafts, delicious food or fascinating rituals that interest you, the Borneo Native Cultural Festival 2024 invites you to celebrate the magic of one island, many traditions.
