The Ewan Lane Festival (ELF) returns to Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu for its third edition - a popular event dedicated to celebrating the vibrant Kota Kinabalu urban culture. Each year, the ELF brings together the creative, energetic spirit of the city through music, art, sports and community-focused activities.

Event Highlights

Pass the Paintbrush

Join in on a meaningful art activity to support Pillars of Sabah's Art for a Fresh Start initiative! This fundraising event invites the community to create a collaborative artwork, passing the paintbrush and contributing to a colorful expression of support for local arts.

Kaki Lima Market

Open from 10am to 6pm, Kaki Lima Market is the creative heart of KK's urban scene. This vibrant marketplace is a showcase of urban culture, with stylish clothing, handmade accessories and unique street art. Alongside these treasures, you'll find food stalls offering a variety of delicious bites, making it the perfect place to shop, snack and soak up the vibrant festival atmosphere.

3x3 Basketball Tournament

Nothing captures the spirit of street culture like a basketball showdown! Cheer on local teams in this fast-paced 3x3 tournament featuring 60 teams. Grab a seat on the sidelines and join in the hype, or better yet, enter your own team and compete for the championship! Registration fee is RM80 per team of three plus one substitute.

3x3 Football Fiesta

Street football fans, this one is for you! The 3x3 Football Tournament features fast-paced matches in the ultimate show of agility and teamwork. Teams of five (three players and two substitutes) take on the challenge, and the energy is unbeatable. Perfect for those who live and breathe the sport, whether you're playing or watching!

Skateboard Clinic and Contest

Skate culture is all about freedom and expression. The ELF 2024 offers a new opportunity for beginners to learn new skills in the clinic, while experienced skaters can show off their style and flair in the competition. Grab your board, lace up and be a part of the ultimate urban sport.

Corn Husk Craft Workshop

Enter the creative world of eco-art with the free Corn Husk Craft Workshop. This hands-on experience - available in two sessions at 10:30am and 2:30pm - offers a fresh take on traditional crafts, using natural materials to create something modern and stylish. It's an experience that shows how urban culture can blend with local heritage in amazing ways.

And don't miss the blood drive - a chance to give back and show your community spirit. If you're feeling lucky, try your hand at the raffle for prizes that capture the essence of the Ewan Lane Festival 2024.
