Rhythms Of Kinabalu 2024

A Celebration of Music, Culture, and Community!

Come celebrate the vibrant spirit of Sabah at Rhythms of Kinabalu (ROK) 2024! This year's event, from 25 to 27 October, runs daily from 8.00am to 11.00pm and brings a festive experience with activities for everyone (free entry).

Event Highlights

ROK World Music Gala (26 October, 7.00pm - 10.30pm)

An unforgettable, high-energy evening featuring incredible artists from Sabah and beyond, including Doo from Korea, Belle Sisoski, Velvet Aduk, Elica Paujin and many more!
This concert will light up Lintasan Deasoka with music and dance, and you won't be able to sit still!

Art Bazaar

Explore Sabah's creative spirit at the Art Bazaar, open all weekend with unique handicrafts and artworks from local artists.

• Sunday 27 October (7.30am - 2.30pm)

Music Workshops (26 & 27 October)

Explore Sabah's rich musical heritage with hands-on hands-on workshops scheduled throughout the day:

• Borneo Boat Lute Sekafi (9.30am - 12.30pm)
  Discover the boat lute, a traditional stringed instrument carved from wood and decorated with intricate designs, bringing to life the melodic traditions of Sabah’s Dayak communities.

• Seruling Alam Sabah (12.30pm - 4.00pm)
  Learn to play the seruling, a bamboo flute crafted from local varieties and tuned to natural tones, reflecting the sounds and spirit of Sabah's landscape.

• Kulintangan Music Workshop (4.30pm - 7.00pm)
  Get hands-on with the kulintangan, a unique Sabah gong ensemble of small brass gongs arranged horizontally, creating the lively rhythms central to local celebrations.

Food Stalls (25, 26 & 27 October)

Taste a variety of delicious street food and local flavors, perfect to fuel your festival experience!

Music Fun Run (27 October, 6.30am - 9.30am)

Start the final day of the festival with an energizing run through the city, a perfect way to join the community and soak in the festival spirit!
