Alton Wong, piano
Alton Wong, a Malaysian pianist and composer from Sabah, is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Jazz Pedagogy at West Virginia University. As a graduate teaching assistant, he mentors jazz combos, leads the jazz ensemble, and teaches improvisation to undergraduate students. Alton performs solo and with his brother Adriel as "Kangkung Belacan", showcasing his Sabahan roots through jazz arrangements. He has won awards at international jazz competitions and is recognized for his contributions to jazz education and performance.
Adriel Wong, drums
Adriel Wong, a graduate of Universiti Sains Malaysia, is a prominent drummer and percussionist in Southeast Asia. He has performed with Gabrielle Stravelli and achieved acclaim at international jazz events. Adriel co-founded the jazz ensemble "Kangkung Belacan" and released their debut album in 2022. He currently drums for the WVC Jazz Ensemble, conducts workshops, and collaborates with renowned artists globally.
