Secrets of the Speakeasy

A speakeasy was an illicit establishment that sold alcoholic beverages during the Prohibition era (1920-1933) in the United States.

Alcohol was banned during this time, but speakeasies operated secretly, often disguised as legitimate businesses.

They were known for their lively atmosphere, jazz music, and clandestine nature, as patrons had to speak quietly or "speak easy" to avoid detection by law enforcement.
