Book Description
My Country and I: The Malaysia Agreement 1963 is an illustrated children's book that provides a lively insight into the creation of Malaysia on 16 September 1963 and an introduction to the Malaysia Agreement 1963.
It also introduces the reader to the country's supreme law, the Federal Constitution of Malaysia.
As history is the best guide to the future, this interactive book not only takes the reader on a historical journey but also provides activities and an introduction to laws, rules and regulations while instilling patriotism and identity.
The thematic and colourful aspect of the book may suggest that it is suitable for young minds, but the content is equally suitable for adults.

Reviving the Foundations of Malaysia: The Malaysia Agreement 1963, the Federal Constitution, and the Evolving Landscape of the Basic Structure Doctrine
Public Lecture by Emeritus Prof. Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi.
10.30am - 12.30pm
This Forum session will examine the key elements that shape Malaysia's legal and political framework. We'll begin by examining the 1963 Malaysia Agreement, the foundation upon which the nation was formed.
We'll then examine the Federal Constitution, the cornerstone document that outlines the powers and limitations of the Malaysian government and the fundamental rights of its citizens.
Finally, we'll critically discuss the Basic Structure Doctrine, a legal principle that protects the core principles of the Constitution and its implications for the nation's future.
Join us for an insightful exploration of these fundamental aspects of Malaysia's legal and political landscape.
