Sustainable consumption

By organising the Papar flea market once a month, the Ashoka Cafe & Gallery team aims to promote sustainable consumption in an effort to combat climate change.

Selling/buying used items at a bargain price makes everyone (and the earth) happy!

There are usually between 30 and 40 stalls offering a wide range of second-hand items:

• Antiques
• Jewellery
• Clothing
• Handicrafts
• Household items
• Books
• Toys

The flea market is covered, which is always pleasant, come rain or shine.

Please remember to bring your own shopping bags to help the environment.

It takes between 45 and 60 minutes to get to Papar by road. A much more pleasant option is to take the train (see info below).

• From Tanjung Aru Railway Station to Papar Railway Station (0.3km away from the flea market place)
• Departure at 7.45am
• Travel time: 44 minutes
