ACAB
The godfather of Malaysian Oi!/Street Punk music comes to Sabah for the third time... The group is committed to the skinhead movement. Accordingly, musically and lyrically, they are based on the part of the British punk rock bands of the second generation, which the music journalist Gary Bushell subsumed under the catchphrase "Oi!". There are also some influences from reggae and ska. (source)
Margasatwa
Margasatwa (pronounced mergastua) is a Malaysian indie rock band formed in 2016. With elements of Malay music from the 70s to the 90s in their songs, their performance is not to be missed. Their hit songs are "Ego", "Yang Asli" and also "Amara Botol Kaca". This will be their first performance in Sabah.
Black Fire
The Black Fire group (founded in 1984) is possibly the earliest Black Metal rock group in Malaysia. They are well known for their various performances in rock festivals and gigs all over Malaysia in the past. Their style is akin to NWOBHM bands like Venom that have dark occult themes.
United Kids of Oi!
United Kids of Oi! are back in Kota Kinabalu. This band brings you Oi!/Ska/Punk music that will make you dance and sing along...
Suistereo
Suistereo, a band from Keningau, will serve a britpop-style sound.
Markaz69
Markaz69 are a two-tone and ska band formed around the year 2014. Their music combines a "danceable ska and rocksteady beat with the energy and attitude of punk". The band's main influences are The Specials, Cock Sparrer, Bad Manner, Bob Marley, Madness and many more.
Measmata
Measmata are a deathcore band who recently released their album "Megalomaniac". They offer their audience music of great intensity. They have a destructive stage presence.
Makhluk
Makhluk is back on stage to satisfy the yearnings of his rock fans. Songs like "Hidup yang baru" and "Man in the devil's mask" will be heard at BAYU SONICBLAST.
Magnum45
Magnum45 is a hardcore melodic thrash punk band. Since it began, Magnum45 has gone on to leave an indelible mark on the underground scene. They are back to perform in Kota Kinabalu after so many years... A great chance to hear their new songs!
The Barroom Heroes
The Barroom Heroes are a well known band in the Borneo skinhead and punk community. Formed around 2001, they play oi!/punk music and their lyrics speak of friendship and the spirit of the working class. Get ready to pogo slam with them!
