Kota Kinabalu's premier convention for youth, hobbies, ACG (animation, comics and games) and lifestyle is back! Hobbycon 2024 is an exciting weekend where artists, fans, gamers and creators come together to celebrate their shared passions.
The event kicks off in style on Saturday at 11am with the All Star March Opening Ceremony, featuring 50 cosplayers in a spectacular display of creativity and craftsmanship.
A Stellar Lineup and Thrilling Performances
This year's lineup shines with the stunning cosplayer Charess and the electrifying duo Hayate and DJ Yang2. Fans can also meet Team Cendol - Rikka and Kyandy - who have proudly represented Malaysia on the global cosplay stage. Comic book fans will enjoy the quirky adventures of Buttman and the imaginative world of Ahmad Ketulhu.
Over the weekend, more than 34 talented performers will light up the stage with soulful vocals, dynamic dance routines, and captivating acting performances, promising inspiration and excitement at every turn.
A Haven for Foodies and Collectors
Hobbycon 2024 will also feature a vibrant marketplace with a wide variety of vendors offering everything from unique artwork and handcrafted creations to exclusive merchandise. You'll also find a variety of food and beverages to keep you energized as you explore the event. This is your chance to shop, have fun, and support local creators and businesses in a festive and welcoming atmosphere!
Exciting Additions and Fun Experiences
For the first time, Hobbycon hosts the Malaysian Itasha Movement, offering a unique opportunity to admire beautifully designed cars and connect with the passionate community behind them.
Gamers can play immersive VR shooting experiences, show off their strategies in card game tournaments, or compete in high-energy mobile eSports battles. For toy car enthusiasts, the HotWheels track competition adds a playful, fast-paced element to the event.
Art lovers can explore their creativity in interactive workshops, while photo and video booths provide the perfect chance to capture and share unforgettable moments.
The weekend ends on a high note with an explosive afterparty. Dance, party, and create unforgettable memories with a bang.

Charess
A talented cosplayer and streamer from the Philippines, Charess charms fans with her quirky personality and passion for bringing fictional characters to life. Known for her playful self-description as a "weirdo" in costume, she balances a busy schedule of photo shoots and events to delight her ever-growing social media following.
DJ Yang2 & Hayate
This dynamic duo delivers electrifying performances. Fresh from blowing away the crowd at StamaX Club, Hayate Konno and DJ Yang2 combine music and cosplay in a stunning collaboration you won't want to miss! "Everybody jump jump!"
Team Cendol
Rikka and Kyandy are two talented cosplayers from Malaysia. They are exceptional costume crafters, bringing a wide range of game and fantasy characters to life with stunning detail and creativity.
They proudly represented Malaysia as WCS Team Malaysia 2024!
Buttman
Straight from the planet Uranus, Buttman is a quirky character who loves to watch Buttflix and snack on Butt Fried Chicken (BFC)! Meet his talented creator, hear the hilarious origin story, and check out the delightful butt merch - including clothing, postcards, bags, and more. A must for fans of humor and creativity!
Ahmad Ketulhu
Meet the creator of Ahmad, the octopus-headed protagonist of the original comic series "Ahmad Ketulhu"! This extraordinary story follows Ahmad and his fellow folklore-inspired creatures as they face the challenges of disguising themselves as ordinary students at a high school in Dungun, Terengganu. This comic is a must read!
