A Historic Indie Event in Sabah

Bayu SonicBlast 2024 is an exciting celebration of indie music that brings together top local bands from Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia on one stage for an unforgettable national concert.

This year's event will feature 10 dynamic bands: 5 from Sabah, 1 from Sarawak and 4 from Kuala Lumpur and Perak. This concert marks a historic moment for Sabah as it will be the first time that some of the country's most renowned indie acts will perform in the state.

The line-up for Bayu SonicBlast 2024 is packed with incredible talent, headlined by ATHOTORGH.
There will also be special appearances from legendary bands such as Carburetor Dung, Nice Stupid Playground and Couple who will bring their unique sounds to the stage.
Don't miss the debut performance of FUGŌ, a rising force in the indie scene.

Supporting the show are local Sabah acts Goodbye Darling, Con-damn the Corruptor, Demizer, The Casket and Alien Lipstick Fire, each bringing their own powerful energy and talent to the night.

Nice Stupid Playground is a Malaysian indie rock band from Borneo formed in 1992. They have contributed to various compilations on labels such as Positive Tone and released a full-length album themselves in 2006. Their biggest hit, "Bedroom Window" from the compilation Boys & Girls 1+1=3, won several awards and was featured in the film Chinese Box.

Couple made history when one of their albums was released in Japan and the United States a few years ago. To this day, Couple's albums are still available in cassette stores in Japan, while entertainment magazines in the US continue to feature Couple. Notably, their song 'Now That I Can See' became the theme song for the TV series Humanzee in the United States.
