In DUO Exhibition #01, artist couple Herman Duang and Christina Beltie share their journey as full-time artists and how art has made their lives so beautiful and special.

Herman Duang
Herman Duang is a talented self-taught artist from Tenghilan, Sabah. Inspired by street artists in Kuala Lumpur during his teenage years, he progressed from pencil sketching to airbrushing and tattooing. His fame grew and he showcased his airbrush skills at the World Art Expo in Shanghai, representing Malaysia. Featured in the US magazine Airbrush Tech, he gained worldwide recognition. Passionate about the preservation of North Borneo motifs, he promotes the revival of indigenous tattooing through his art.
Christina Beltie
Christina Beltie is a printmaker specialising in Rungus motifs. She is a mother of four and the wife of a tattoo and airbrush artist from whom she has learnt a lot over the past 10 years. She took the opportunity not only to explore the world of art but also to research the existing Rungus motifs in Sabah.
About Ruang Tamu Ekosistem
Ruang Tamu Ekosistem is an arts community centre run by various local collectives in Sabah. It is based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
