Can we protect our ocean from pollution?

Abstract
As we celebrate World Ocean Day (June 8) and Coral Triangle Day (June 9), let us refresh our understanding of the ocean. In Sabah, we can find different marine ecosystems, including mangrove and wetland, intertidal and subtidal, seagrass and seaweed, coral, and open sea.
Do you know what is happening to these ecosystems now?
Pollution from human activities, such as land use change, industrialization, and urbanization, solid waste, especially plastic, agriculture, and unsustainable tourism practices, is contributing to the degradation of the ocean, especially biodiversity.
We must not forget that climate change also affects marine biodiversity, the distribution of species, behavior change, fishery resources, and many more.
Although these seem like huge global issues, we can make a difference today with collective efforts.
"Think globally, act locally."
What can we do in our daily lives and communities to make a change?
Do no wait for change, be the change agent to make a difference.
