The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (KPKK)
The Malaysian Dance Festival has been organized by the National Department of Culture and Arts (JKKN), Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (KPKK) since 1992. Until 1999, participation in the Malaysian Dance Festival was only open to professional groups or groups created on a regular basis. From the year 2000, participation in the Malaysian Dance Festival was extended to amateur groups throughout the country. The format and concept of the dance competition from 2000 - 2009 focused on traditional arts.
In 2022, the Malaysian Dance Festival at the state level will begin with a Dance Workshop that has been held in 2021. This workshop is an exposure to the coaches, dance practitioners and dance teachers involved to understand more deeply and directed about a dance and a dance category .
The State Level Malaysian Dance Festival 2022 is a platform to identify groups that will be selected to compete at the national level in conjunction with the Malaysian Dance Festival 2023.
